Why Solar Case

I love the concept of solar energy.  From the time I was a child and my father  showed me how to build a solar-powered AM radio, I’ve been interested in everything related to solar power.  But why, you may ask, create a web site devoted to solar energy products, or more appropriately photovoltaics, that are portable and can be carried in a case?  The answer is that solar energy makes both economic sense and practical sense when used to replace expensive alkaline batteries and when used off the grid, in locations that lack plug-in power.

Solar Case is a site dedicated to tracking the advances in solar power for portable applications.  Advances in solar panel technology, lightweight and durable materials, battery technology and electronics have led to the development of an incredible range of portable solar-based energy systems.  We will explore technology advances, review products for camping, hiking and other recreational uses,  and compare alternative approaches to solar-based portable power.
